Dark Arts Collective started as a “spin-off” of sorts to another studio.
It all started a while back when my brother and a friend started nudging me toward learning how to tattoo. They have set up a meeting with my now good friend and mentor, owner of “Dark Tattoo” studio and a great tattoo artist, Dejan Adzic. We clicked instantly and quickly formed a bond as friends and colleagues.
After two years of learning from him I moved to Belgrade to finish my studies and brought my tattoo equipment with me. It started with one tattoo with my friend’s recommendation and went up from there. The circle of people I tattooed became wider and turned out to be bunch of cool people from Belgrade HC scene I’m good friends today.
Dark Arts Collective supposed to be a collective of people into different branches of art. People who are different in expression but make one cohesive “brand”.
As it usually goes in Serbia, hard life and trying to earn enough to survive pulled people away in different directions and idea of a collective of artists never caught on. But I kept the name and I’m quite fond of it, it stuck with so many people and I intend of keeping it for as long as I can.

Too bad your idea of an artist collective didn't work out.
I know how that is. I've tried doing something similar only not with tattoo artists but with creative DIY craftsmen (and women ;D)... a kind of a "junk to art" affair.
But, trying to get a bunch of artists into the same room and thinking in the same direction is like trying to herd cats... nigh impossible!
